Product Description

Ninja DT200 is a September 2020 model and a game changer in the air frying world. The first element I spotted on this gadget is its ability to cook family-size meals. Most families are medium-sized and require a convenient cooking appliance that does not limit their Capacity. For this reason, the DT200 is a two-level rack unit with a 21-liter capacity. This size can make food for six plus people without at a go. However, the amount of food will depend on the serving or the type of the dish.

Another outstanding detail is the true surround convection, which heats your food around and into the deep interior. The mechanism makes this oven ten times more powerful than a traditional full-size convection oven. Its results are crispier roasts with juicier interiors. There is no need to flip your food.

With the digital display handle, you can optimize the rack positions to your liking and check your selected function. When you open the door, all the settings pause to ensure safety when cooking. Food cooks at high heat that spreads with the help of an inbuilt high-velocity fan.

I want to mention the rear heat source, which cooks food without a need for rotating food. The feature helps you cook food in less time without sacrificing taste: Crispiness and juiciness. This oven’s eight cooking programs include Broil, Toast, bagel, Pizza, bake, air roast, whole roast, and air fry.

Product Description

In my review, I also had a chance to examine the Ninja DT201. This oven is a sister to the DT200. Without a careful examination, you would think it is the same oven. The descriptions on his oven fit those of its sister. But there are differences I found that can help you to make a decision. I will discuss those on the differences section.

This cooker has a true surround convection feature. The design enhances an all-round cooking process as well as interiors. Like the Ninja DT201, this feature makes the oven ten times more powerful than a regular convection air fryer oven. It is faster and produces crispier, tastier, and juicier results.

Its unique cooking programs include Broil, Toast, bagel, Pizza, bake, Air Roast, Whole Roast, Air Fry, Dehydrate, and Reheat. All these eliminate a need for a stand-alone baking oven, dehydrator, microwave, toaster, air fryer, and grill.

A feature that amazes me on this oven is the digital display handle. Most air fryer ovens lack this element. It allows you to utilize oven positions and shows on the display the functions you selected. Like on the DT200, the display freezes whenever you open the door. The automated function protects you from burns and other accidents.

Cooking is super-fast. With the 1800-watt Capacity, the heat is enough to cook food effectively. Its preheating time is 90 minutes and sets the oven into a cooking mode quickly.

The Capacity is family size and is sufficient to roast a 5 lbs. chicken. You can also set up the racks to cook two 12-inch pizzas.

What Are The Differences Between The  Ninja DT200 And DT201?

On the store shelf, I couldn’t differentiate between the Ninja DT200 vs DT201. Though slightly different, these two appliances have a similar outward look. They are sleek appliances with almost similar dimensions and colors.

However, a close examination reveals several differences;

1. Cooking Programs

The first difference between the DT201 and DT200 is the cooking programs. This cooker has two extra ones including the dehydrate and reheat features

So, you will get Broil, Toast, bagel, Pizza, bake, Air Roast, Whole Roast, Air Fry, Dehydrate, and Reheat on the DT201.

2. Temperature Range

I also noted that this Ninja model has a 100 F – 450 F temperature range, slightly higher than its sister, the DT200, whose heat ranges from 100 F to 400 F. While considering performance, the wider the heat range, the better the oven. Higher temperatures allow you to roast or grill your favorite meats, including lamb and beef.

3. Weight

One oven weighs lighter than the other. The DT200 is heavier, however, the figures vary by a pound. Ninja DT200 weighs 34.17 pounds while DT201 33.6 pounds.

4. Price

The price tag for these two air fryers is below $350 but not the same.  Ninja DT201 is pricier than DT200. I had to find out the reasons. There are extra features on the 201 including a dehydrate and reheat feature. cooking programs are more and so is the temperature range. Also, the DT201 is an upgrade of the DT200 and has a better performance, thus the high price tag.

What Are The Similarities Between The Ninja DT200 And DT201?

I will now go ahead and discuss the similarities between these two Ninja DT models;

1. Materials

Both air fryer ovens have a stainless-steel construct, a high-quality material. It is durable and does not rust. Stainless steel maintains its sheen, does not scratch, and withstands heat. Also, it has a sleek appearance that fits in all kitchen designs and fittings.

2. Extra Large Capacity

These air fryer ovens have extra-large capacities. You can comfortably cook for six plus adults. The DT200 has a 21-liter capacity while the DT201 claims 34 pounds cooking space. Its increased Capacity can feed up to 10 people, depending on serving preferences.

3. Power

The power wattage for both ovens is 1800W. This level is sufficient to cook and dehydrate your foods. With such wattage, you won’t have to worry about the oven taking long to roast your cuts.

4. True Surround Convection

The true surround convection heating method involves hot air rotating all over your food, thus cooking it without leaving cold or uncooked patches. It is a powerful technology only available on ultra-modern air fryer ovens such as the Ninja DT series. These ovens are ten times faster than regular ones.

5. Preheating Time

Preheating gives your oven time to achieve the best cooking temperature before cooking. Some ovens take three minutes or more to preheat. It’s different from these two Ninja DT ovens. They only take 90 seconds or one and a half minutes to preheat—that spell efficiency and time-saving.

6. High Velocity Fan

The fan is a crucial feature in air fryers. It is in charge of blowing heat from the element to cook any food that you place in the cooking chamber. Though the feature is a must have in all air fryer ovens, the Ninja DTs have high-velocity fans. Their speed is super-fast, making the ovens highly efficient.

The Final Verdict

You already have all the facts about Ninja DT200 vs DT201. The comparison table helps you compare the features. Below the table describes the two ovens, their features, similarities, and differences. That’s not all. You need a verdict to move on and pick an air fryer toaster oven of your preference.

The DT201 is an upgrade of DT200, thus coming with more features, including 10 cooking programs and a wider temperature range. However, the oven is pricier and costs almost $300 or more. If you are looking for the latest Ninja DT air fryer oven, choose the DT201. you can still buy the DT200 and pay less, but you won’t get the dehydrate and reheat features. Please do your math and good luck!
