I usually prefer healthier meals, and baked potatoes are one of my top choices. But as a cooking enthusiast, I always look for perfection in cooking. So, a few months ago, I tried the air-fryer baked potatoes. Surprisingly, the process was faster and more efficient than using an oven.
Since I started loving the recipe and making it frequently, I was looking for the best air fryer for baked potatoes out there. One day, I dumb into the COSORI 9-in-1 6-quart air fryer, and now it has become my best duet partner for the recipe.
Best air fryer for baked potatoes: Our Criteria
When it comes to the best air fryer, the first thing that comes to our mind is the capacity. Is the capacity enough for my family? Or can I feed a gathering of a few people?
From this point of view, the COSORI 6-quart air fryer is undoubtedly the best for baked potatoes. It can cook four medium-sized russet potatoes at once, enough for two to four servings.
Moreover, it has a roomy basket that is big enough to bake a good amount of potatoes and not too heavy to handle. Additionally, it cooks the potatoes really well, with crispy and salted skin while leaving them fluffy inside.
The air fryer is also very easy and straightforward to use. Just prep the potatoes, set the temperature and time, and GO! It makes no noise or lousy odour and doesn’t warm the whole kitchen. Making baked potatoes is just a breeze. Overall, this air fryer is a serious upgrade from my previous air fryers, which I tested for a better-baked potato recipe.
To summarize:
- Preheat within no time
- Perfectly baked potatoes
- Faster cooking
- Way quiet and lightweight
- Very handy to use and clean
How to Make the Best Air Fryer Baked Potatoes Using the COSORI 9-in-1 6-quart Air Fryer?
Ingredients:
- 4 medium-sized russet potatoes
- Oil
- Kosher salt
- Black pepper
- Butter
- Any other optional toppings like cheese, bacon, onion or sour cream
Let’s start cooking!
- Clean the potatoes. I prefer scrubbing them to ensure hygiene, and don’t worry—it won’t hurt the potatoes’ skin.
- After washing the potatoes, pat them dry with a paper towel for better seasoning.
- Spray or brush the potatoes with oil. I usually use olive oil or avocado oil, but you can also use any other kind of cooking oil.
- Season the potatoes with a mixture of salt and pepper.
- Make some holes in the potatoes using a fork for better streaming.
- Cut a slit down into the potatoes and wrap each of them with foil paper.
- Preheat the air fryer at 400 degrees F.
- Select Air Fry on the COSORI air fryer and cook the potatoes at 400 degrees F for 30 minutes.
- Press START and GO
- Flip the potatoes after 20 minutes and cook for another 10 minutes.
After 30 minutes? It’s time to serve those giant baked potatoes. Typically, I like to add shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream and chopped green onion for added taste. But what I liked most was that it took only 40 minutes to prepare(10 minutes for prep and 30 minutes for cooking). This is comparatively quicker than my traditional oven. This same recipe takes 50 to 60 minutes in a conventional oven. Quite satisfying, right?
The Best Air Fryer for Baked Potatoes Cooking Tips
- Choose the right potatoes. Russet potatoes would be the best choice for this recipe.
- Don’t forget to preheat the air fryer
- Pat it dry well, poke holes and rab oil for better crispiness
- Check for doneness.
Easy Cleanup
As I wrapped the potatoes in foil paper, the air fryer basket didn’t get so dirty. You can also put a liner under the rack. Still, the fryer has a drip tray that collects all the added dirt and grease. Moreover, the basket has a nonstick surface.
But What about the Taste?
First and foremost, the taste was way better than a traditional oven or microwave. It was a good combination of superb crispiness, excellent flavour, and softer inside. It also uses 95% less oil compared to deep frying. Overall, cooking baked potatoes with the COSORI 9-in-1 6-quart air fryer has made it so simple for me to reach my goal of a healthier diet without compromising the taste of my recipe.
