These Ninjas are lookalikes and thus confuse buyers, but have minor differences that make each unique. The Ninja Ol701 has a food thermometer, while the OL601 doesn’t. This member of the Ninja FoodiXL series proves versatility. The appliance integrates a pressure cooker, air frying, and Steam crisp technology. The three come under its unique Smart lid, which is effortless to operate. This lid has a slider, facilitating easy access to the cooking modes above. The cooking functions are 14 and signify versatility while simplifying the cooking process.  

Another inclusion worth noting is the steam crisp technology. The feature promises faster, juicier, and crispier food, employing steam and crisp cooking technology.   

I like the extra-large capacity as it can cater to medium family needs. The basket accommodates large meals, plus you can cook multiple components by adjusting the deluxe rack. But there is a challenge in shelving this unit: the meal sizes will be smaller than when you cook without the rack.

The Ninja OL601 boasts its speed (70% faster than a slow cooker) and 75% less fat; thus, it is a super-fast and healthy cooking appliance.

For the former, I had to manually move the knob on its lid to release the pressure. On the OL701, it is a simple selection dial between the Quick and Delayed releases. Before selection, the setting is Natural Release, the default setting for releasing pressure. 

• Thermometer

The food thermometer is another distinction between the two Ninja OL series. It is a gadget for testing internal food temperature; on these two ovens, it is present on the OL701. The probe comes on the lid’s underside and has a storage holder on the cooker’s side. So, you do not have to store it separately. On the 601, the feature isn’t available.  

• Price

The OL601 is cheaper than the OL701 by several dollars. No one will tell you why the OL701 is pricier than the 601. But it is obvious. The unit has an automatic pressure release technology. In addition, it comes with a food probe. The OL 601 is cheaper because the two attributes are missing.

• Color

Though the two ovens are similar in many ways, the colors differ. The OL601 comes in Silver/Black, while the OL701 is Stainless steel/black. You might confuse the two colors if you haven’t examined silver and stainless steel. Stainless steel is shiny, while silver is dull.
